This is a print of a white oak that I found in the woods in Cashiers, NC. The wind had taken this one down. It had already begun its journey into decay, where it returns to the soil from where it came. But I cut a piece off from where it wasn’t rotting too badly. The bugs were all over it. It has the scars to show. And when I cleaned it off I noticed the rings. They tell the trees story. This tree saw some wild weather. It saw heavy rain, drought, extreme cold and of course ideal weather. That’s why I called this one weathered. Growing in the Appalachian Mountains it had a view!
Limited edition of 10. It’s hand printed on 17”x 21” handmade Kitakata paper, using black ink. Each one is signed and numbered!
